Seely Hall was recently purchased by long-time residents of Port Medway who are planning to turn it over to the community. MACA will support its restoration.
MACA has provided funding and volunteers to maintain the cemetery and upgrade the entranceway.
The bi-annual Port Medway History show takes place in the Warehouse at the town wharf. MACA supports the history show which draws hundreds of visitors to Port Medway. It also manages the space for the community.
Medway Head Lighthouse was a major project for MACA. It is now owned and maintained by the Medway Head Lighthouse Society (created by MACA) and the light is maintained by the Canadian Coastguard. The long tradition of helping sailors continues.
The Lighthouse underwent major exterior restoration and is now in perfect working order. MACA provided leadership in the purchase of the lighthouse, funding during construction and founded the Medway Head Lighthouse Society to provide ongoing maintenance and support.
New siding, new windows, fresh paint. The Light house sits on a dramatic outcropping of rock looking over the Atlantic. This is a great picnic and walking destination.
